Road trip

So I wound up lasting about 5 hours before I had a road trip took me back to the ER at PVH. I knew I was getting a full lung and started leaking profusely at my tube site. We called Dr. Peters, a young Pulmonologist and he was on call at the hospital anyway. We had done my first tap two weeks ago. He met me in the ER and after a xray he proceeded to do another drain. In addition, he was nice enough to put in another stitch on my side. We made it back home and I felt a lot better all with no leakage. I ate well and watched TV with Bev. We ran into Larry the tech at the ER. He was the guy that ran into get me on Monday afternoon while I was still laying on the gurney. Bev was all freaked thinking something was wrong but come to find out he was in a race to deliver me to my room at the same time as one of his counterparts was trying to get another ER patient into the room adjoining mine. Needless to say, he was determined and we won! We were talking about that yesterday in the ER again and all had a good laugh. Students came in while Dr. Peters was doing his thing because I guess this leakage isn't all that often seen. It's amazing how many students have watched over me. Working on campus you know that is expected. But still teaching in the hospital was a great feeling. My hat is off to anyone who has joined this field to help others. They have all been so friendly. It's like going to see Ben (my nephew who is a Pharmacist in NC)for a prescription. I am older, they have all been young, but my total care and trust are in their hands. It's a wonderful feeling to know the youth of today are doing something so great as this.
