Nothing More

So the meeting went as I expected, not as I wished. There is nothing more they can do for Ken. His lungs are not reparable. We are making arrangements to let him go. My heart is breaking, but I feel your support and love. I will let you know as plans are being made. Some family is coming tomorrow to tell him good-bye, more are coming on Sunday. I don't know what else to say except thank you for your prayers.
God Bless You.
Bev

  6. It's been 20+ years since I had the pleasure of meeting Ken, but one thing I remember well was how much he loved Bev. In trying to find words of comfort for Bev, I came across this poem and I think this might be how Ken would feel...

    To Those I Love
If I should ever leave you whom I love
To go along the Silent Way, grieve not,
Nor speak of me with tears, but laugh and talk
Of me as if I were beside you there.
(I'd come-- I'd come, could I but find a way!
But would not tears and grief be barriers?)
And when you hear a song or see a bird
I loved, please do not let the thought of me
Be sad... for I am loving you just as
I always have... You were so good to me!
There are so many things I wanted still
To do-- so many things to say to you...
Remember that I did not fear... It was
Just leaving you that was so hard to face...
We cannot see beyond... But this I know:
I loved you so-- 'twas heaven here with you!

  11. LSC Dining will be a somber place without Ken's laughter ringing throughout the kitchen and hallways. He could come up with the funniest jokes! I will miss his sense of humor, the camaraderie we built through the years and his kind and gentle spirit.
Bev and family, I am so very sorry.
